The Infrastructure Center (IC) for VMware & XenServer stands for essential Business Continuity for virtualized IT infrastructures.

For increased performance and efficiency in day-to-day work with virtual infrastructures, version 6.3 offers the following new functionality:

• Connection to VMware vStorage APIs for Data Protection (VADP):

  In terms of optimal backup and disaster recovery IC v6.3 supports - additionally to the existing backup paths - also VMware VADP. That way, users of the expiring VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) technology can keep on using a LAN-less backup opportunity including restore functionality.

Next to pure vSphere™ and ESX™ 3.5 environments IC supports mixed vSphere-ESX 3.5-farms in its new version as well.

Thus, all users of the standard solution IC can now use the professional management functionality in the area of backup & disaster recovery of their virtual machines.

All VCB users who must realign now take advantage of the IC - independent of whether using VCB integrated in a solution or on a scripted basis.

• Faster backup times when using Quick Recovery

  With Quick Recovery complete virtual systems are available again in a matter of seconds because no restore process is necessary. In addition to very quick recovery times IC v6.3 now also allows much faster backup processes with the option “Quick Recovery”. Both VMware (vSphere & ESXi™) and XenServer users take advantage of this efficient backup method.

• Infrastructure Center Warehouse (ICW) also for XenServer

  The Infrastructure Center Warehouse (ICW) is the new centerpiece of the IC. Since v6.2 the ICW has been available for VMware users. Now also XenServer users take advantage of this central data information platform of the IC.

  In close collaboration with the management consoles vCenter™ & XenCenter™ important information are hold centrally in the ICW. That way, the handling of the GUI and of the IC server is considerably better and faster.
